SURVIVING 2005 SNOTOJA

The 2005 LoToJa Classic will be remembered as a severe weather day for 1,000 cyclists, their support crews, and over 300 volunteers. LoToJa participants endured rain, snow and cold weather as they traveled 206 miles from Logan to the finish in Teton Village at Jackson Hole. The frigid descent from Strawberry Summit (mile 62) to the third feed zone in Montpelier (mile 80) was especially brutal. At this point, many cyclists were forced to drop from the race, climb into a warm car, and change into dry clothing. For those that were able to continue riding, LoToJa 2005 became a long day of survival and a test of shear determination.
