BEFORE YOU APPLY

Please consider the following four suggestions before submitting your 2025 LoToJa application:

1) BE PREPARED - Please read the information published in our Registration Guide and Cyclist Bible.

2. DETERMINE YOUR CLASS AND CATEGORY so you know how to answer the questions presented to you during registration. Your category selection should be consistent with your training and participation goals as well as match the class and category of your friends, family, and/or teammates.*

3. HAVE A COMPLETE TEAM if you are joining/signing up a relay team. Team captains will submit the first application to create their team. They will be asked to enter the name and email address for each teammate. This will generate emailed instructions to each team member to join the team. Incomplete relay team applications will not be considered.

4. RENEW YOUR ANNUAL USAC LICENSE if you have been licensed previously and plan to RACE in one of LoToJa’s competitive categories. Cyclists with a Category 1-4 road license are required by USA Cycling to either renew their ANNUAL license or buy a $35 EXPERIENCED ONE-DAY license. Cyclists that are new to racing and/or have not received an upgrade will compete in a “Novice” category (previously called Cat 5) and have the option of either racing with an ANNUAL license or a buying a $15 BEGINNER ONE-DAY license. If applicable, a direct link to buy your one-day license (for LoToJa) from USA Cycling will be emailed to you in the summer. Annual licenses can be purchased at usacycling.org. Licenses are optional for all non-competitive RIDE categories.

*LoToJa's lottery registration process, and the rider cap we maintain in each category, affects our ability to easily and fairly move teammates from one category to the next. This is especially true in our Cyclosportive Ride categories. We will accommodate category changes for Licensed Race cyclists that receive an upgrade from USAC.
