34 MILES TO ALPINE: — The wind and vehicle traffic will be the biggest obstacle riding northward through Star Valley on US-89. This leg is mostly flat with nothing over one to two percent up or down. Pray for a tailwind (it’s usually a crosswind) and watch out for the brutal rumble strips that border the white fog line.
